Thanks for Supporting Golfing for Youth
Thanks to everyone who supported the 26th annual Golfing for Youth Benefit Tournament, presented by Greater Giving and SAK Construction! More than 300 golfers—that’s 80 teams!—hit the links on three courses at Whitmoor Country Club and the Missouri Bluffs Golf Club on Aug. 7 for a day of fun to benefit the thousands of children, youth and families Youth In Need serves. Together, we raised nearly $150,000! Whether you were a golfer, sponsor, donor or volunteer, we couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you!
And don’t forget to check out the team photos from this year’s tournament.
White Castle Rounds Up for Youth In Need
Earlier this year, multiple White Castle locations in St. Charles, St. Louis, Wentzville and Columbia, Mo., asked customers to “round up” their purchase to the nearest dollar for Youth In Need for two months. The first round raised more than $21,000 for Youth In Need! The same locations will hold a second “round up” session later this year. Local White Castle employees have also shared their time volunteering at Youth In Need, unloading and organizing in-kind donations for program use.
Youth In Need Receives Grant for Salary Support
Youth In Need received $20,000 from the Norman J. Stupp Foundation to fund salary support for the Transitional Living Program. A group home and supported living apartments, the Transitional Living Program offers teens and young adults, ages 16 to 21, who are experiencing homelessness an opportunity to learn independent-living skills and to work towards educational and employment goals and become self-sufficient community members.
The Foundation is a long-term Youth In Need partner, funding the agency’s work for 17 years. Their mission focuses on building strong communities and neighborhoods and helping youth succeed.
