Funders Support Facility Improvements

Thank you to the YouthBridge Community Foundation and Children’s Trust Fund of Missouri for $50,000 to support facility improvements at our Emergency Shelter and Transitional Living Program! New appliances and furniture include a refrigerator, dishwasher, beds, couches, dining chairs and so much more. These improvements allow both spaces to continue to provide a comfortable and safe environment for each young person at Youth In Need for years to come!

Every Youth Deserves a Helping Hand

Youth In need is proud to announce that the Missouri Department of Economic Development has awarded Youth In Need YOP and NAP charitable tax credits. These tax credits were awarded to support and expand Youth In Need’s continuum of services reaching the region’s most underserved youth.

Project services include homeless outreach, emergency shelter, early childhood education and both school-based and community-based counseling. With these tax credits, supporters will be able to contribute more than $650,000 to these programs.

Donors contributing $100 or more qualify for state tax credits equal to 50% of their donation that can then be used to pay Missouri state income tax. For more information, visit online.

Save the Date: Step-Up and Sleep-Out

Did you know that 45 percent of youth are turned away from shelters in St. Louis due to lack of capacity?

That’s why Youth In Need’s Young Professionals Group is holding its sixth annual Step-Up and Sleep-Out event to raise money and awareness to support our programs that work directly with youth experiencing homelessness.

Join the cause beginning Oct. 20! Participants will receive information on how to create their own online fundraising pages, sleep-out on their own and continue to help throughout the year. Watch for more information to come via email and our socials. The culmination event of Step-Up and Sleep-Out is Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 6 p.m. at Youth In Need’s offices at 1815 Boone’s Lick Road in St. Charles. Participants are invited to attend a presentation about Youth In Need’s Safe Place program, a national program that partners with local businesses to provide “safe places” for youth experiencing crisis. Youth In Need’s Street Outreach Program staff will lead a discussion following the presentation.
