Shower of Love
Shower of Love is a countywide baby shower that supports Youth In Need, Our Lady's Inn, Crisis Nursery and Mary Queen of Angels. All of the organizations work with teen parents and their children. Providing baby items to these young families is an effort to support them and lessen the likelihood of child abuse or neglect. On and before May 6, Youth In Need is collecting new baby items for this segment of clients. Prior to May 6 we invite businesses, schools and organizations to hold your own “baby shower,” and we will pick the items you collect during the week of May 6.

For the May 6 collection day, we especially need YOUR help! Volunteers are needed to collect baby items at the St. Peters Shop ‘n Save on Jungerman and at the Wentzville Dierberg’s. Shifts are for two to three hours, and the collection runs from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. We also need assistance from 7 to 9 p.m. at Youth In Need’s central office to help count and sort all of the collected items.

If you can’t join us as a volunteer on May 6, you still can help by eating out! Download and bring this flyer to the Applebee’s on Mid Rivers Mall Drive on April 26 and Applebee's will donate a portion of their sales to Shower of Love.

Lastly, a new, neat way to get involved is to fill a baby bottle with “diaper change.” We received a donation of baby bottles that cannot be used for drinking, so we are putting them to use collecting change for the babies. You can pick them up at our Central Office.

For more information about any of these opportunities or to get involved, contact Lucy Schuering, Community Relations Manager, at 636-757-9334.

Help Youth In Need Make Wishes Come True

For more than 30 years, Youth In Need has supported children, teens and families in achieving their goals and building a positive future. Charitable product donations help Youth In Need to create residential and learning environments that are crucial to its mission. As a non-profit agency with limited resources, Youth In Need depends on these generous donations from the community and local businesses to better serve its underprivileged children and families.

Although we are appreciative of all gifts, Youth In Need no longer accepts used donations.
